Lincoln Stake Trek 2019

Registration and Preparation

Step 1:

Register a Pioneer Family

Definition of Pioneer Family: Pioneer Families and individuals that wanted to go West with the Saints would sign up to join a company that would travel together. Many preferred to travel with their immediate family or loved ones. A Pioneer family therefore is considered an individual, a group of friends, a family, or a group of more than one families wishing to travel together. Each Pioneer Family has one or two individuals that are considered the leaders of that family.

Definition of Pioneer Company: Group of Pioneer Families that travel together. Each company had a trail boss that was familiar with the path the pioneers must follow and would communicate with the Family leaders.

The figure to the right shows how Trek is going to be organized. Those wishing to participate may organize families between 1 and 22 persons. Once all families have been created and registered, the Stake will put families together and organize companies.
